Urbanbite is pleased to be supporting a small charity project in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We spent a lot of time researching a suitable beneficiary so that we all have the opportunity to share some of our good fortune with others less lucky than ourselves to make a real difference to their lives. The Mikembo School Project exists to help ensure that local children are given the opportunity to attend school, whilst helping combat malnutrition by being provided with fruit juice, a boiled meal, cookies and fresh fruit on a daily basis.
One of Mikembo’s original projects was to rebuild a school ruin to offer around 400 children an education in a favourable environment. Seven classrooms were equipped with benches and boards, whilst two offices and two toilet blocks were also provided. Read more.
